Fall Break at Rock Island State Park (Part 2)

ROCK ISLAND STATE PARK!
We left Townsend, TN and headed to Rock Island State Park to meet our friends for 3 days of fun....
Beautiful waterfalls were along many different hikes.
This is a small stone structure that was built when it was a cotton mill and still stands there for pix.

We hiked up a steep trail to see the waterfalls and beautiful view of the Caney River..........
Here are some good action shots of the "trail" w/ water!

There were lots of wet shoes and boots after this.

There is a huge sandy beach where you can swim or kayak!!!
So fun to get to use our friend's kayak to play; here the girls take off in two of them!!!!!!

Playing some volleyball in the campground!
We had a great time at this park, and plan to go back!!!!!!! Anyone want to join us?? ;-)

Fall Break camping in Townsend, TN (Part 1 of the break)

We rented these inner-tubes to having Hailey, Emily and Dad try a nice, easy float down the Little River.

There was a perfect area on the river to practice fly-fishing, and Hailey took a swing at it and did great!

A view from our campground to the river below; you could see the floats and the fish from up high!

We took a walk on a small walking bridge that goes over the Little River........only 4 were supposed to be on it at a time.......eeekkk

Camping must not go without the famous S'more's dessert..........of course Emily has her sunglasses on at night to deflect the large flames of the campfire.

We saw The John Oliver Place again in Cade's Cove.  It's always a humbling place to visit.

Nice fall decorations, not to scare the kids or anything  :-0
